Artemesia (Silvermound)

Artemesia 'Silvermound' shown here with the tall delphinium and the shorter Geranium 'Johnson's Blue' in the background.

There are many different types of artemesia, and I have 3 or 4 of them. They are all grayish green or silver and like good drainage. They are drought tolerant, which is a good thing in my town.

This one is my favorite. It is a lovely silvery plant with feathery foliage that begs to be touched. It forms neat mounds about a foot high.

Late in the summer it can get leggy and flop a bit, but cut it back to the ground and it will make a rapid comeback.
